Cross Laminated Timber (CLT)

Engineered timber billets capable of long spans.

XLAM CLT

Prefabricated and relatively lightweight, CLT is an alternative to precast reinforced concrete panels and offers superior environmental credentials.

XLAM Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) is a multi-layer solid wood panel (known as a billet) made of plantation pine stacked crosswise and bonded together, creating a strong and versatile structural building material.

This cross-lamination technique enhances structural rigidity and strength of panels, making them suitable for use in a variety of building applications, including walls, floors, and roofs.

CLT panels are manufactured with precision in factory settings, allowing for the creation of large, prefabricated sections that are tailored to the specific dimensions and structural requirements of a project.

CLT not only offers exceptional load-bearing capabilities and seismic performance but also provides excellent fire resistance and thermal insulation.

Applications

Suitable for single storey, mid-rise and high-rise applications. CLT panels can be used for the following applications alongside GLT to create a structure made completely with mass timber or it can complement other building materials.

Applications: Floor Systems, Roof Systems, Wall Systems / Panels, Stairwell and Elevator Cores.

Durability

XLAM manufactures both untreated and H3 treated CLT. The timber treatment – Hyne T3 is suitable for indoor, outdoor and above ground applications in domestic and commercial buildings in Australia and New Zealand.

Panel Sizes and Thickness

Sizes: Up to 16m long and 3.4m wide.

Thickness: Variable depending on the intended load and span. 3, 5 or 7 layers of lamellas, with cumulative panel thicknesses between 90mm and 310mm.

PEFC
