Mass timber made easy.

XLT RANGE

XLT is XLAM’s range of standardised, ready-made engineered wood products designed to make mass timber more accessible for residential and light commercial projects. XLT offers timber-based alternatives for some common concrete or steel-based building materials. Because the products are standardised and engineered for everyday construction, they can be installed onsite without the need for specialist tools or trades.

Why choose XLT?

Engineered Strength

XLT offers superior engineering properties to carry critical loads and create long spans, at a fraction of the weight of steel and concrete.

Faster Installation

Prefabricated, lightweight components support efficient construction, reducing on-site complexity and speeding up build programs.

Thermal & Acoustic Comfort

Timber’s natural insulating properties help regulate temperature and reduce noise transfer, supporting more comfortable, better-performing buildings.

Sustainable by Design

Made in Australia using responsibly grown, PEFC-certified plantation pine for a smarter, more sustainable build.

Naturally insulated floor panels.

XLT Floor is a laminated mass timber flooring system designed for strength, stability, and comfort, delivering excellent thermal and acoustic performance. Lightweight and dimensionally accurate, it provides a flat, reliable substrate for a wide range of floor finishes and efficient on-site installation.

Long-span CLT floor system.

XLT Span is a standardised flooring system designed to simplify specification and deliver efficient, predictable project outcomes. With fixed panel sizes and pre-engineered span tables, it reduces design time, shortens lead times, and streamlines installation.

A long-spanning system for floors & roofs

XLT Cassette is XLAM’s long-spanning system for floor and roof applications in residential and light industrial projects. Engineered to achieve large, open spans.

Engineered timber beams

XLT Beam is a laminated timber beam engineered for load-bearing strength. Offered in a wide range of sizes and lengths, XLT Beam delivers consistent performance with proven design properties, tested in accordance with AS/NZS 4063 and certified under CodeMark.

Short wall bracing and load-bearing portals

XLT Brace and XLT Portal are ideal for large openings, garage portals, and tight bracing areas, they provide high lateral and vertical load capacity for modern, open-plan homes.

FAQs

What is engineered timber flooring?

Typical engineered timber flooring is a type of wood flooring made from multiple layers, with a real hardwood surface on top and a stable, engineered core underneath. XLAM XLT Flooring is made from solid timber laminates offering spanning properties, thermal and acoustic properties and a solid under foot feel.

What is engineered timber?

Engineered timber (also called mass timber or engineered wood products) is wood that’s been processed, layered, or reconstituted to make it stronger, more consistent, and better suited for structural use XLAM’s engineered timber products are purpose built for a range of structural applications.

What is cross laminated timber (CLT)?

CLT is a type of engineered timber where layers of solid wood are glued at right angles to create strong, stable panels. The perpendicular lamination creates a rid plate with the laminate grain of each layer of timber running at 90 degrees, offering strength in all directions. XLAM’s CLT is made from sustainably grown plantation pine and used for floors, walls and roofs in modern construction.
